Robert Balkman

A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, and a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Bob received both an undergraduate degree in marketing and an MBA.  He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Infantry Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning, Georgia. Bob continued his education with additional graduate work at SMU in finance and has called the Dallas area home since 1972.

Bob brought his experiences and knowledge gained from working for a Fortune 500 manufacturing company to the home building business.  The combination of his focus on attention to detail and the value disciplines he learned in the corporate world have been an important part of his success. He has been building homes for more than 28 years and the knowledge and skill that comes with that has earned him the reputation as one of the most highly respected homebuilders in the Dallas area.  Many of his clients have become close friends and he is proud of the homes he has helped them to build.

Bob has been a member of the Home Builders Association for more than 25 years and is a past member of the board of directors. In addition, he has  held a Texas real estate brokers license for more than 20 years.  Bob has also served on the board of directors for the YMCA Camp Grady Spruce.  When he is not working, Bob enjoys outdoor sports such as hunting, fishing and golf.

Bob and his wife Karen, who also works in the business, were one of the original builders at LakeSide on Preston where they reside.  They both enjoy spending time with their extended family and cocker spaniel, Kahki.

  Tom Riordan

Tom spent his early career in corporate accounting, residential construction and commercial finish-out.  In addition, he was project manger for a large residential company building luxury homes in Preston Hollow and Park Cities.

Tom joined Robert Balkman in 1993 as construction manager where he quickly proved to be an asset to the company and was invited to become a partner in 1998.  Tom and his 25 years of experience are a natural fit to the organization, as he is continually motivated to give the highest level of personal attention to their clients.

Tom is a charter member and past president of the Addison Rotary.  He has also served as president of the Whiffletree X Neighborhood Homeowner’s Association.  Tom’s passion of sports continues as he has actively coached his four children in youth sports.

Tom and his wife Linda make their home in Plano.
